The Cisneros Surname Project may sponsor the full cost of a basic Y-DNA test for selected applicants whose results can help identify, confirm, or better understand a direct paternal-line Cisneros ancestry. Because Y-DNA follows the father-to-son line, sponsorship is generally intended for a male tester who descends from a Cisneros, Sisneros, Cizneros, de Cisneros, or related surname line. Sponsorships are limited and reviewed case by case, and submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

You may be a good candidate if

Not a male paternal-line descendant? You may still apply on behalf of a father, brother, paternal uncle, cousin, or grandfather who represents your Cisneros line.

Application

Fields marked * are required. Everything else is optional, so please share whatever you know and leave the rest blank.

How applications are reviewed

Applications are reviewed case by case by project administrators. Priority is often given to untested Cisneros paternal lines, applicants with a clear or well-documented direct paternal-line connection, branches or regions not yet represented in the project, older test-takers or the last male-line representatives of a branch. We may contact you for clarification before deciding, and approval is not guaranteed.

Privacy

The information you submit is used only to evaluate eligibility for a sponsored Y-DNA test and to support genealogical research within the project. Your personal information will not be posted publicly without your permission. Y-DNA results may be grouped or analyzed within the project to study paternal-line relationships among Cisneros, Sisneros, and related surname lines.
